Only four days late with this post📅😠
It was another one of those weeks last week, and this really set me back…
When my computer booted up last Monday it flashed up a screen saying it was configuring the system, which made me think Microsux had updated it.
My worst fears were confirmed when the screen was blank.
No wallpaper or icons, and the taskbar was empty.
When I found the documents folder that was empty too📵
I phoned the computer repair shop but they couldn’t send anyone out for 2 days, and I was struggling to get someone to give me a lift down there – so I only had one choice.
I did what we’re always told not to do.
I pressed the power button on the cabinet to force a shutdown.
After all, there was little left to lose as there was no prospect of doing any work until Wednesday.
It rebooted successfully, and I’ve been able to continue, although having to play ‘Catch Up.’
I’m going to have to back-up everything from now on even though that will take time, but the prospect of going through that panic again means I’ll have to accept the delays that will cause.
It’s a bit of a conflict with trying to get 3 steps in front and I’ve not even caught up after the outages caused by my previous ISP, so I’ll have to sacrifice other things this weekend to get back on track.
